This OPEN event is to raise funds for Ipswich East Rotary Club and its charitable activities.
The venue is being held on fields near the farm and a new field a short walk away.
About the site
We have been offered for our use three large fields of well-rotted stubble, and this includes one new field never detected just a few minutes from the farmhouse, parking, toilets & burger bar!
Some fields have intriguing crop marks and tracks as seen on Google Earth.
The area has produced medieval, Viking and Roman in the past including items of treasure trove interest.
Directions
Falkenham is very close to Felixstowe so follow the A14 and take the slip road at junction 59. At the top of the slip road turn left and go through Kirton village and pass the school until you reach the crossroads, turn right into BACK ROAD, continue down until you reach a large sign that reads Falkenham.
Turn right at the sign and continue down the track to the Registration tent just past the farm and sign in.
Here you will find a burger bar and toilets.
Depending on which fields, you wish to try, we have hard standing concrete parking in front of the barn beyond the farmhouse or on the edge of the field leading down to the farm. Details will be explained on arrival.
All finds must be shown to those manning the Registration tent and will go into a display case with collection later in the day available, as we would like to take photographs and all to enjoy.
The rules of treasure trove apply and find valued above £500.00 to be shared with Landowner.
